Hot work tool steels are designed for high-temperature tasks and with strength, wear resistance, and resilience.
In ASTM A681 standard, there are “H” Hot Work Tool Steel Series from H. Like H10,H11, H12, H13, H14,H19,H21 H22,H23,H24,H25,H26, H42 Steel. The most popular one is H13 (1.2344) and H11 (1.2343) steel.
AISI H13
H-13 Tool Steel is a chromium-molybdenum-vanadium hot work tool steel that is known for its high hardening and excellent toughness.
DIN 1.2344 Steel
DIN 1.2344 Steel is a top-notch Hot work tool steel, falling into that high-quality, high-carbon alloy tool steel club. With an oil quench and temper, it toughens up to a hardness of 28-34 HRC. And after annealing, it chills out to a hardness just shy of 250HB.
DIN 1.2343 Steel
DIN 1.2343 steel, equivalent to AISI H11, belongs to the category of hot work tool steels. It’s known for its exceptional toughness, resistance to thermal fatigue, and its ability to maintain its properties even at elevated temperatures.
